The American Dairy Association of Indiana (ADAI) sponsors “Cheese Lady” Sara Kaufman every year during the Indiana State Fair to create a beautiful sculpture from over 1,350lbs of cheddar cheese. Sara’s sculptures are always one-of-a-kind and she creates her work of art in front of thousands of fair goers.
This year there is a spin to the cheese sculpture. The ADAI wants your help in designing the infamous Cheese Sculpture at the great Indiana State Fair. Have your hand in helping Sarah Kaufmann, the Cheese Lady, design the 2010 work of art. Sarah will take the winner’s rendition and incorporate it in to this year’s sculpture.
The contest will run from March 1-22, 2010. The winner will be announced during June Dairy Month promotions and events. The winner will be recognized during media events, receive a great prize pack, including tickets to the Indiana State Fair and dairy bar treats and more. So who wouldn’t want to have 15 minutes of fame – 17 days!
Judging will be based on:
- Creativity
- Wow! Factor
- Originality
- Concept and theme
Some Basic Rules:
- One submission per person
- Open to Indiana residents only
- Open to all ages
- No Professional artists
- Submission must be sent in jpeg format
- Rough ideas with written explanations will be accepted (everyone is not an artist)
- Include types of domestic cheese to be used in sculpture
- Fill out attached entry form found on our website – WinnersDrinkMilk.com
Submission must be sent to WinnersDrinkMilk@gmail.com. Please put in the subject line ‘The Big Cheese’. Winner will be contacted by May 1, 2010.
